Every day in the industrialized nations, we take our food for granted, since they are easy and relatively inexpensive to get, and supermarkets nearby always have plenty of food for everyone in the neighborhood.  However unknown to many consumers, nearly 2 billion tons of food are wasted each year due to poor storage and inadequate infrastructure that leads to food spoilages, extremely inefficient agricultural practices, or the practice of discarding good-to-eat food that do no appeal to consumers and food businesses.
